The Hunter's Moon (the first full moon after the Harvest Moon)

The moon appears bright and golden near the eastern horizon at sunset,

and can be spotted near the planet Saturn

It's time to wear orange!

Early bow hunting season for the southern tier (includes Chenango County) starts Oct. 1st (the whole month until gun season).  Youth Gun Weekend is Oct. 10th -12th. Regular gun season is Nov. 21st to Dec. 13th.  

The attached document has all the information on the hunting season. Area 7M includes Chenango County.
